Yes, it’s official! I’m going to continue development on the IRC Collective project. And I am excited and motivated!
But before I can start writing code again I want to take some time setting up my workstation and server. And I need to do some site maintenance as well, some of the software is outdated or has been disabled due to abuse (SPAM mostly).
Here’s my plan:
- Update the Debian Linux installation on my development server
- Install Ubuntu Linux on my workstation
- Install all the development tools needed on my workstation (Eclipse, Subversion client tools, EPIC and Subclipse)
- Mask all the e-mail addresses used on the website
- Update software used on the website (forum, bugtracker, etc.)
- Re-enable forum and bugtracker
- Install (or verify current installation of) IRC Collective on the development server
- Create an Eclipse workspace project on the workstation
- Check status of the code, compare the todo list and the roadmap
- Start having some fun by implementing new features
